Professor Johnson is friendly, a good lecturer and the subjects in his class are interesting. The labs and simulations are also interesting and help you conceptualize some of the more abstract/difficult concepts. However the exams are very difficult, and most of the practice problems don't help to prepare for them. In the exams, you are often asked to think about questions in a new ways that aren't familiar to the questions/problems you learned in class. This is dreadful when you are under a time constraint for taking an exam. |

Good lecturer, he doesn't do much in BSCI150 lectures. When he does lecture, he's good at it and interesting. |

Professor Johnson is a great teacher, easy to talk to and definitely knows his stuff! Genetics is not a topic I understand easily but he makes the course easy to follow and gives the exact information you need for exams. For exams, understanding the concepts is a big part so learning definitions and applications is important but his examples and the labs pretty much guide you through everything. I definitely recommend this course. Be prepared to take time for the labs, they were hard for me. Again, he is a great professor so put in the work and this class will be smooth sailing. |
