BUDT731 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 01/16/2024 |
Great Professor , especially during office hours. As a plus one student & not a business undergrad student there was an adjustment to get use to. There is a curve (which helped me pass) |

Personally, I think she has the best teaching skill compared to my other professors in this semester. She def doesn’t have problems of delivering knowledge, cuz every thing she taught in the class is very clear. However, the only thing she might need to change is the grading. Put 70% of the final grade on midterm and final exams combined can freak students out, especially without informing them in advance that the final exam has 20 pages…in two hours. Still, she is my favorite prof this semester. Hope I can take her class again in the future. |

I think someone else said, "She is very knowledgable but does not know how to teach." This is spot on. Another one that is spot on, "Sujin Kim is an awful professor and I would avoid at all costs. She does not teach at all but expects you to know material for tough exams/quizzes. Her office hours are unhelpful and she does not respond to emails. Her lectures are focused around reading off the powerpoint." Avoid if you can. |

If you have to choose between BMGT434 and BMGT435, definitely take 435 if you want an A. You do have to go to class and office hours to do well. The exams are worth a lot but you get to bring a note sheet so definitely take advantage of that. Overall, if you actually go to class and study for exams, you should do fine. |

I honestly think she's a good researcher but a pretty bad teacher and won't respond to mails. She won't care how hard the subject is and would just carry with unannounced quizzes even at a Graduate level. I would avoid if you have anxiety .She won't fail you. |

Smart lady, pretty hard to follow class. First half with @Risk is ok. Second half with Arena is a mess (and pretty impractical, so it's hard to motivate yourself to figure it out). She seems to treat this like a graduate class (pretty sure our final was at least partially taken from BUDT758K). I'd be ok with that if the powerpoints we're expected to understand everything from were more succinct/easier to follow. Also, the accent makes it doubly hard. All of my professors this semester had a fairly thick accent, this is the only class I had trouble understanding/following, sometimes you just really have no idea what word she said. Not a lot of stopping, slowing down, or real engagement so if you miss something just hope it's in the powerpoint. All that being said I'm getting an A. I think she avoids giving below a B for anyone who tries. Got an A on midterm and a C on the final. Average on final was a D, I have a hard time believing most anyone totally understood the concepts behind Arena. Wouldn't recommend as an elective but not a terrible class. |

Professor Kim is obviously very knowledgeable on the subjects she teachers, but definitely lacks the ability to convey this to students. Instead of teaching, then explaining, then practicing, then testing, she seems to skip the middle two sections and leaves students confused and unprepared to actually put the information into practice. In addition, when she was unsatisfied with the amount of people not participating(early class and no one knows whats going on) she decided to create a large participation grade in the middle of the semester that was never stated on the original syllabus, tanking grades class wide. Overall, smart person, bad teacher, no practice and little help as it seems she expects us to understand everything she does. |
