Hilarious lecturer. He waffles the entire class and writes random problems on the board with no cohesion, but its a pretty funny class.

Lectures did not prepare me for assignments in the class which I found to be tremendously more difficult than the content reviewed in class. He used a method of picking groups to participate which resulted in the same 3 groups being forced to carry the class and did not make accommodations when the class brought this to his attention.

A very nice teacher but failed to teach the class well. There was little to no structure in his lectures. They consisted of him just writing examples on a whiteboard, often which had intricate mistakes. There was no textbook to reference from, and his slides on ELMS were not helpful. His deep analysis of the mathematics behind each example further confused the students. The class mean on the midterm was a 63.7%, which he claimed "he aimed for". The BMGT340F section is strictly for Sophomore Finance Fellows. It is supposed to be an accelerated course, but honestly just made me want to switch majors. Overall, I do not recommend this professor. He seems brilliant but is clearly inexperienced in teaching an undergraduate class.

This was his first time teaching 440, and I think he did alright. The grading consists of four group homework assignments, leading a class discussion about a Harvard case with your group, periodic pop quizzes graded on participation, the midterm, and the final. His slideshows aren't conducive to learning in my opinion, as they are packed with long sentences. However, they are a good resource for homework and review. The midterm was a mix of qualitative and quantitative questions. Most of the class performed poorly on that, so he made the final (non-cumulative) mostly qualitative questions. Overall, he's a good professor that clearly cares about student learning. That said, you will have to put in some effort to perform well in this class.

The professor is friendly, always willing to re-explain himself, and answer questions over and over again. However, despite his hardest efforts, he does not explain very well. This is due, in part, to the inherent nature of the course which is complicated and difficult. However, he tends to overcomplicate it by delving too deep into the mathematical underlying logic of the concepts. He also struggles to explain himself. His assignments/exam were difficult, and not very flexible with grading. However, he does curve up for the final letter grade.

It was a rough start to the semester as he was not given proper expectations for us. A lot of ppl dropped in the first few days as it took him some time to adjust to us. Once he did though, the coursework was still very challenging. He still worked with us and always made himself available for his students, which we all really appreciated. Almost everyone who made it through the first couple of weeks even signed up to take another semester of his course. His commitment to working with his students is unmatched. The coursework still is hard.

Proceed with caution! I took this thinking I wouldn't need a lot of background knowledge and It quickly became a very time intensive class. He expected a level of understanding of R to complete the assignments and was very hard to understand with a mask on. At the beginning of the class, there were 45 students, and by the end, there were only 18 left. Many of the students chose not to continue in the Quantitative Finance Fellows as he would teach the second course in the program. Unless you have a background with programming languages or an interest in quantitative trading, I would recommend not to take this class with this professor.
