ENAE362 Expecting a B Anonymous 03/05/2025 |
I had him for ENAE362, where he effectively ran the labs (Winkelman was AWOL and I'm pretty sure retired). Leiste was super kinda and despite being inexperienced in the specifics of the lab (at first) made sure to inform himself to better help students. I think what best exemplified this was him showing up to the ENAE362 lecture everyday of the semester so he could give himself a refresher on electronics. As a rare change of pace he was not adversarial to his students and often went above and beyond (such as reprinting graphs) to make his students succeed. I cannot recommend this guy enough |

Not sure why this guy has no reviews but he was the goat for ENAE363 lab. He basically ignored all of Winkelman’s BS for the labs and was genuinely helpful. Some highlights: 1. I saw him come to lecture almost every week and take the notes along with the students so he was prepared for the current content and our understanding of it. 2. Some of the components used in lab were pretty fragile and he had no problem replacing them when someone inevitably broke them. No scolding, he taught them how to correctly use them. 3. I saw him go out of his way to help students reprint their weekly graphs during lab when they weren’t up to the uselessly strict standards imposed by the TAs. Once I saw him quietly taking apart student labs and restapling them correctly so they wouldn’t lose points and didn’t even tell them. Saved them 20+ points each and didn’t even feel the need to be recognized for it lol. I’ll reserve my thoughts about 362 as a course but this guy is a hero as a lab instructor. |
