Professor Mason is one of the best teachers at UMD, hands down. I had her for JAPN498A, and she is passionate about her subject and makes even the least interesting parts of the class engaging. Classes feel more like discussions (in a good way) rather than lectures. There is a lot of reading in this class, but Professor Mason makes it manageable, and she’s really understanding with late work as long as you talk to her. |

Dr. Mason is the best professor I have EVER had! Her lectures are interesting, her discussions are fascinating and she treats her students like equals in a conversation rather than someone she is "teaching." No matter what she is teaching, she tries to make sure that the class is going to benefit you as a person for the rest of your life, which I really appreciate. Take her classes UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, because she is too fantastic to miss! There was a lot of reading in JAPN498B, but it was all interesting and was totally worth it to experience such a great class. |
