Professor Moncrieffe is so kind and thoughtful, and classes were always fun. There were four major assignments in the class along with a few reflective writings (usually about a page), but she provides a good amount of time and a very clear rubric to get them done. The content was not difficult to understand, and the workload was less than average. From what I've heard about other ARHU classes, this one certainly seems the best.

A really amazing professor! The class itself is structed very friendly and very manageable. There are only 4 major assignments that make up the grade and they're all very do-able. I felt like there two sides of the class, one part was teaching material, group work, and going over assignments, and the other part was visiting places around the campus for class, actually setting you up for college, and real fun activities. I felt that the latter is really what made me want to go every class. The teacher, Ms. Moncrieffe, is credibly helpful, welcoming, and understanding. It is crystal clear that she only wants you to success, not only for the class, but also for your college experience. I also felt that the class I was put into helped to really have a lot of fun and form a community. I think the only things people might not like would be attendance and in-class participation grades as well as a good amount of research on some papers. But overall, this class and professor are easily 5 stars!

She is the sweetest professor! The class had 4 major assignments and were relatively easy to manage because she provides clear guidelines and questions to answer. She does a lot of in class work with readings but majority of them didn't count towards my overall grade. I actually learned a lot and really enjoyed coming to class! If you're choosing an ARHU158 course, pick this one!

Professor Moncrieffe was an amazing teacher! She was very upfront on what she is looking for, and is very understanding on the difficulties of being a college student. While she does challenge us, she doesn't go out of her way to put extra pressure on us. If you do the work, you will succeed in this course. I would love to take her again. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and wants to hear our opinion on certain topics. I'd definitely recommend her if you are planning on taking this course.

love her, very passionate about the class. -1 star tho cuz sometimes the class felt like there was no structure and i found myself doing things that wasn't even related to the subject which was annoying. i didn't like the class but she's great.

I'd start off by saying that if you don't want to go into the medical field/this isn't a required class for you, then you might not want to take it. ENGL395 is very heavy on research, and there are consecutive assignments based on the same exact topic where you're essentially building off each assignment. Since the class is small, Prof Moncrieffe also encourages participation and discussion, though she's kind, understanding, and flexible regarding anything participation based. She makes her expectations clear several times, and she will deduct points from an assignment if you didn't follow the directions, but to be fair, it's on you at that point. This class can be very eye-opening in terms of the focus you want to have within your medical field, so for those who are certain about their career in medicine, this is perfect for them. For everyone else, this class would probably just seem like a professional writing class that takes too much time and effort - for them, it's better to just do the other classes, online or otherwise.
