HNUH228Q Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/28/2025 |
Overall, this wasn't too bad of a class. There was a lot of reading, probably around the same amount as HNUH228C (if not slightly more on some days), and thus I heavily discourage you from taking both classes simultaneously. However, the books themselves were really fascinating, and the professor is very passionate about the subject. Lectures are pretty boring for the most part, being mostly about the frameworks by which we were supposed to understand the class, however the in-class discussions we had about the books ranged from entertaining to being the highlight of my day. Your grade is mostly based on class participation, your choice of three out of five mini-projects based on the readings, and one final group project where you analyze a city's climate action plan. The class was pretty disorganized in the sense that these projects were not spaced well throughout the semester (mostly ended up towards the end), and the professor did not grade a single one until after the end of the semester, but his grading is very lenient and the projects never took an exorbitant amount of time to complete. Overall, if you like or want to get more into sci-fi literature, and you just need one class to finish this UH cluster, you can't go wrong picking this one. |

ENST360 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/09/2024 |
Class is boring as all hell, but Dr. P-Z seems to care a lot about it. I think I would enjoy it if it were my first time learning it, but there is strong overlap with BSCI 160 and ENST 233, so I'm just tired of it. Exams are really chill, only two of them. You have to go to discussions because they are one of the main graded assignments for the class. Dr. P-Z is a nice guy and approachable, willing to give you an extension if needed, but he's pretty bad at answering emails. You will make it through this class no problem. |

Dr. P-Z is super nice and apporachable. The class content and grading structure is straight forward and he tries to make it as easy as possible. Currently taught asynchronous lectures with synchronous discussion sections. The concepts overlap with BSCI207 if you are an ecosystem health concentration. |
