Honestly, she is a little crazy, but she grew on me over the semester. No matter how much I disagree with her on some of her philosophies, she is a very educated professor and has proof to back up all of her claims. I liked her, but didn't love her. She often went on tangents, but none of it mattered, so if you are okay sitting and listening to someone talk for a free A+, then she is pretty solid. All of the assignments in this class include: weekly reflections, weekly text renderings from various books/articles, and one group project on a different form of education. Overall, these assignments were VERY easy. Personally, for all the reflections and text renderings I used Chat and she never noticed. The group project is the only part you need to actually do work on, but you have a lot of choices in the assignment, so it should be interesting and something you are okay putting a little effort into. I recommend this class 100%, such an easy gen ed, and as someone who is an education major, it was cool to learn about other types of schooling. However, if you are someone who doesn't like to go to class, then DON'T take this one because 80% of your grade is simply based on the fact that you showed up every day and listened to her yap for an hour and 15 minutes.

Kellie is a super cool and chill professor who made me think about the education system in a different way. She's understanding, kind, and funny. Her way of teaching is through a lot of personal anecdotes about her kids. As long as you complete the work with effort, then you'll get an A. Each week in TLPL210, there is an assignment where you have to read an article and pick out a word, phrase, and sentence that stood out to you, in addition to asking a question. There is also a weekly reflection, which usually means you have to watch a movie and write a brief paragraph about how it connects to class. The main project of the class is a group project in which you research an alternative schooling method and then present it to the class and a panel of experts (people who participate in that schooling method). All the assignments were pretty easy, just a little time-consuming. The final project was to create a proposal for your own schooling method, but she made it optional for us because we told her we were stressed out.

Absolutely amazing professor. Took this course because I heard it was an easy class. This was one of the courses that I actually enjoyed compared to every other course. The way she lectures and talks is so engaging, I never get bored of it. She's very understanding and will let you turn in assignments late if you let her know; treats everyone like people rather than students!

A prior comment mentioned how you have to play to being very liberal to get an A. This is not the case in my experience, and as long as you submit competent work then you will get an A.
