He's a nice guy, but this class is the biggest waste of time and energy ever. The actual content being taught is just word soup and slideshows compiled of every business related buzzword you could think of. You literally look at the main concept being taught that day and go "tf does that even mean?" You do the most useless in class activities and some are graded for attendance but you don't know when, so you basically have to show up every day. Which in itself is totally reasonable, though annoying, except there are so few assignments that losing a couple points will hurt your grade dramatically. The quizzes are based off select readings from the blog assignments, except the quiz questions are HYPER specific and in some instances, two answer choices were identical in meaning but only one was right. As someone who read every article in full and put a decent and appropriate amount of effort/thought into every reading & blog, the fact that I only got a 5/5 on 1 quiz is DIABOLICAL. You spend a significant amount of time working toward creating your own social enterprise for the final presentation, but it was never really clear whether the inclass assignments were practice or if you were meant to gear it towards your own enterprise. Expectations for assignments were never clearly laid out, canvas instructions always contradicted the syllabus, and he would explain it an even different way in class or over canvas announcements, so you never knew exactly what was expected. The final presentation is not that bad, but you are not allowed to reference any text or even brief notes, and it is almost solely graded on your physical delivery and public speaking skills. this is not a public speaking course, and we never practiced public speaking skills throughout the semester. Basically, find a different gen ed/elective because even if you don't care about anything I just said, you still don't walk away from this course with any knowledge or skills that you didn't have before. |

I loved this class. Prof suarez is super engaging and classes are pretty self explanatory. 9/10 times there is a participation online assignment (mural website) that helps you build a social enterprise in baby steps over the course of the semester. It's pretty low effort and if you pay attention, it changes the way you think about innovation and entrepreneurship as a whole. He really believes in each of his students and wants you to do well. He's also just a cool guy in general. Go to class if you want a good grade because of assignments that are for attendance, but you really don't have to pay much attention or give much effort and you will still succeed. You have 3 self explanatory quizzes that are directly based on the class articles (seems like these are new quizzes than the ones in past years) and a blog about once a week that is super easy. The final project involves pitching your social enterprise. Just make sure you practice a lot because a lot of your grade is on the delivery and if you hit the specific points needed you will do well. Overall a really great course and 2 gen eds which is a big plus. |

Didn't really learn much. He was very engaging and I liked how he taught us how to story tell. Can be an easy A. |

I honestly really enjoyed this class. Maybe it's because I have a natural knack for innovation and entrepreneurship, but there was never a dull moment in class with Dr. Suarez. You should definitely come to this class ready to learn and engage with classmates. |

Suarez is a chill guy, will sometimes end class early. I wouldn't really say I learned anything from this class, It was kind of just an easy A. Not too much work outside the class or inside the class. Usually I just use the three hour class to work on other school work. Overall Suarez is nice and pretty engaging. |

The professor is nice and makes the class fun and interactive. The TA is not the best but the coarse itself is nice and the professor is eagured to help. |

I enjoyed this class. Professor Suarez comes to class with a lot of energy and makes an effort for things to be fun and interactive in a very unique way. My only complaint is that the assignments for the class were very vague and confusing and sometimes the TAs grading wasn't the most clear. But for the most part this class was enjoyable, stress free, and an interesting was to learn about product design. |

I really enjoyed Professor Suarez's class. I know the reviews are mixed by his class is actually so fun. Every class that you go to is a new activity. It is super engaging and you will definetly make some friends in this class. There are no exams and nothing to study for. The only thing is, because there are few grades/assignments, you cannot be thoughtless about it. It's an easy A, IF you actually try and be creative on some of the projects. |

idk how this man is bs-ing his way into staying a professor. was one of the worst classes, if not the worst, that I have taken at the business school. lectures were boring unless you're interested in learning about his life. I enjoyed a single reading we did (lencioni's 5 dysfunctions of a team) and bonding with the classmates who I complained to. nothing else. |

What I gained from this class: nothing What I lost because of this class: My 4.0 GPA and 3 hrs of my Mondays every week The class is based off of 5 quizzes and one final group project which is graded SO HARSH. There are no possibilities to earn points back and only a total of 125 points in the semester making it impossible to end with a good grade. Do not take this class if you want to save your GPA!! |

The grade data for this class is OLD and incorrect. The class USED TO be easy. Its not anymore. He updated it and its a good amount of work. You will struggle to get an A in this class. The quizzes, which are a large portion of your grade, are hard and basically nobody knows the answer to them. He gave nobody an A on the final project with is worth a big chunk of your grade. The average for the final project was a C+. This guy has changed the class and made it significantly harder. I do not suggest taking it and I am a CS major who ended with an A in most of my cs classes and could not end with an A in this class. I struggled for that B-. |

This dude is nice but this class is so bad. I took it thinking it’ll be an easy A gened but it’s really not. I’m saying this as a CS major. I got an A in CMSC351 but a B- in this class. The quizzes are so hard and everyone fails them. Those are worth like half the points for the class. He grades harshly on the final project and the high on canvas for the final was a 85% and the average was a 75%. The class used to be really easy, so the grade data is incorrect. He patched it so the class is actually a real class now. I would recommend taking some other gened. This guy is a troll. He refused to bump me 0.14%. GPA gone because of him. NOT AN EASY CLASS. GRADE DATA IS OLD AND INCORRECT |

Honestly the class is great for knocking out Gen Eds, but besides that I wouldn't take it. The class itself isn't horrible, and Professor Suarez is pretty great! However, there is not a lot of structure to the class and lots of expectations of group work. To get a good grade in the class, all you need to do is complete the assignments. But, remember to study for the quizzes since they are really specific and can knock off a bunch of points |

Professor Saurez can be a very nice person and tries to keep his class entertained because of the length of the class and how he wants to integrate key points of innovation within you. The quizzes are very easy as they are matching so you just need to memorize them. The blogs are really easy, and the other assignments aren't too bad. However, the worst part about this class is the group work. Over time, there's this environment that's built within this class that makes students feel that they don't need to show up to class because they feel Professor Saurez isn't going to talk about anything important. It's important in retrospect but not showing up to class won't directly impact one's grade. At the very end of the semester for the final project, this behavior escalates to the point where if you have a bad group, you're basically screwed. It's not completely his fault because the learning in this class isn't conventional as well as it is held once a week, but I do still think that Professor Saurez is still somewhat responsible for creating an environment where many people think it's okay to skip class and let the rest of their group members pick up their slack. |

In class professor Suarez is a very fun and engaging professor. His class is very easy and is very based on group work and class participation. His TA on the other time can be a little ridiculous with how harsh she grades blog assignments. The quizzes can also be a little annoying because oftentimes the study guide is given out via MURAL which in my opinion is a clunky and annoying system to work with. Be prepared to use MURAL a lot because it's almost always connected to the work in and out of class and make sure to follow the work guidelines to a tee and you should have no problems with this class. |

I love Professor Suarez!!! He's engaging and fun and HONR258E is a really great course that encourages you to think about things in a different way than you usually would. I was a little worried about this class since it sounded like it would be a lot of work, but it's really manageable and a great class overall. Take him!! |

Incredible professor and a great guy. His style of teaching is very unique but I've found it immensely valuable. You will be challenged but you will also learn a lot. Don't expect an easy A - it sounds cliche but this is truly a course where you get what you put in, and Professor Suarez can tell if you're not really trying. Highly recommend |
