This is an asynchronous course and yes, I got a B. Discussions are worth 33% of your grade, Quizzes are worth 33% of your grade, and the Final group project paper is worth 33% too with a free 1% for doing a class bio. Discussions are annoying to get used to so prepare to set alarms for when you have to post a reply cause you gotta spread your replies out across 4 days. The quizzes are what's going to tank your grade. We have to read 25-40 pages of whatever articles he assigns and complete the quizzes off of that. You only have 15 mins to complete each quiz which is absurd for the amount of content he expects us to learn or memorize and is open note. Ctrl f-ing every quiz and article isn't going to help much as the questions are really specific and sometimes comes down to interpretation which will burn through the 15 mins. They're 5 question quizzes and getting 1 question wrong drops you down to 80% for the quiz. The final project paper has two previous parts, the preproposal and the proposal which don't even count towards your final project grade. A whole 33% of your class grade is determined by a 5000-word research paper that's most likely going to be around 17-20 pages depending on your formatting. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this class. I thought it was an easy A or at least an A that would not have me worrying about it but I stress about my grade in this boring class more than I do my other technical and math courses. |

The class is very boring and he does grade attendance so you have to show up. There is also group presentations throughout the semester about every other week. His quizzes are also very difficult. He quizzes on a large amount of topics but the questions are very specific. However I wouldn't say the class is difficult as long as you put in the effort. |
