She is the most chill, down to earth professor I have taken so far. Although the reviews may have some truth to them, I think they are too harsh. Be prepared to adapt with the professor's ability to alter the lectures as she goes. I personally love this because it keeps us on our toes. Additionally, when she does this, it is the easiest thing in the world. The class is supper easy, fun, and doesn't consume time. She is flexible and allows her students to take the midterm and the final online. Furthermore, she does assign a semester-long group project, which is easy, that we had to do. This is one of the few classes at UMD where I actually interacted and enjoyed being around my group members. She is a professor I highly recommend people should take! |

He takes forever to respond to emails and he takes forever to release grades. He is very disorganized and bad with time management. He grades the big assignments harshly and makes it difficult for no reason to get a good grade in his class. He is very condescending and annoying. He tries too hard to seem cool and young but it does make it easier to pay attention to his lecture. |

She's very unorganized and seemed to put little thought into this class. All the class materials on Canvas were copied from another professor including every single assignment and the syllabus so every assignment had the wrong due date and instructions and she wouldn't update them until like 2 days before the assignment was due. Going to class was pointless because you basically learn two things the whole semester and she spends the whole lecture asking subjective questions and then telling people they're wrong when they try to answer. This class was pretty easy but her teaching style was frustratingly lax and unprepared. |

She is an okay professor. Don't need to buy the textbook. Rely on the slides and you will be fine. Group project is involved. TA does most of the work. So, don't bother asking questions to the professor. |

idk how this man is bs-ing his way into staying a professor. was one of the worst classes, if not the worst, that I have taken at the business school. lectures were boring unless you're interested in learning about his life. I enjoyed a single reading we did (lencioni's 5 dysfunctions of a team) and bonding with the classmates who I complained to. nothing else. |

I would not advise taking his class. His lectures are all over the place and really don't teach you anything. He has exams on a bunch of random things that he has "taught" and gives you a study guide that's not helpful at all. He also teaches based off of his opinion, which I thought was extremely unprofessional. Attendance is also important even though you don't do anything of value in his classes. |

Dr. Seo is a fantastic professor. He truly cares about the subject and his students. The class is a mix of lectures and hands-on activities. There is a semester-long individual project and group project that aren’t too bad. As long as you pay attention and stay on track, this class is super chill, interesting, and manageable. |

Prof. Langa is o.k. Her class isn’t the most exciting since we can’t use our laptops and this doesn’t do anything to make me want to listen to her lecture. While he’s very knowledgeable I found it difficult to apply the leadership styles to the real world because she has spent most of her life as a teacher so the examples she used in class were about her baby and her husband. She’s good at explaining the material but it’s just since it’s a business class it would’ve been helpful to get real world insight such as her bringing in guest speakers to talk about their leadership style. The quizzes in the class are harder then we all made them out to be and the averages were usually 2/5. |

This is all not true about Professor Suarez. I took BMGT 363 and I loved it and am taking another class with him because he is an amazing teacher. He knows his stuff, and the class is very interesting too. He is a great speaker and if someone is saying that he does not know his English..., then he is off his head!! Class syllabus changed only a bit, and I have seen this happening in any other class. All the life stories were tied with the topic, and it made us easy to remember the key terms with those stories. I fully recommend this class because you will learn a lot. A very easy class and he makes things easy for us. Very nice professor who cares for students and flexible too! Take this class and you will not regret at all! |

Dr. Suarez is by far the best professor that UMD RH SMITH School of business put before us. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is also very professional, organized, well mannered, approachable, patient, determined, caring, and very easy to talk too. He doesn't bore you with death by power point like most other teachers, instead he provides real life insight that one can use post graduation. He teaches based on actual knowledge and also incorporates theories, which is good, because lets be honest, how many people actually use useless theories in the real world (Pythagorean theorem)? would much rather learn things that can be applicable to every day life. Thank you for not killing us with useless information, and actually preparing for our future. In regards to his expectations, he outlines them day one of class, and then its up to the students to be adults and know when things are due. Just like in the real world, no one will come up to you 2 times a week and remind you that you have something due. I honestly think that Dr. Suarez is the best instructor, professor, leader, advisor, and role model that UMD has. I am thankful that I was able to learn so much from him, in the short time that i had him as a teacher, and hope that now that I am in the MBA program I will be able to have him once again, as I know that there are a lot of things that I can learn from a guy of his Caliber |

He was a great professor very passionate about his class but I don't think he was as engaging as he should be. This is not a hand-out class where all you'll have to do is show up and turn in your assignments and it will be an easy "A". You get what you put in with this class. Dr. Suarez doesn't teach; he more so guides/shares his honest experiences and situations he has encountered in the past. DON'T bash him because he actually treats student like adults. Grow up and learn to realize that not every Professor will use the same teaching style. If you're real business students you will learn to adapt and still excel in any given environment. |

What can I say about Suarez, to start nothing good. He is disorganized, unprofessional, and often times rude. When students had questions he would say sharply "Did I open the floor for questions?" I am surprised with his head being so big he can actually walk into the classroom. He is about as disorganized as a 5 year old and that's a compliment. What I find so comical is the fact that he calls himself a leader yet he has no idea what's going on. He doesn't even know when assignments are due and he created another syallbus to add to the already established confusion. His life stories back when he was a Democrat with Bill "The Cheater" Clinton and George Busch got old, grow up and stop living in the past. Shouldn't a leader plan for the future and not live in the past? His exams are off the wall. Every answer choice could be the answer, he tries to trick you. He constantly says "Don't worry about grades" but still decides to be a hard grader and fail everyone. He assigns the same grades to the whole class so I guess he is lazy and doesn't take the time to read our assignments. His GA was MIA (I guess the idiot took an extended spring break) so that was Suarez's excuse. I had to day dream in this worthless class to stay sane. Listening to his bad English and dealing with his unprofessionalism was mind blowing, which is not in a good way. Trust me when I say this that he is just another bad professor at the Smith School. Like most professor here, they think they know everything and they don't. Just a fool in a suit. |

One of the best professors I have ever had the pleasure of learning under. He is extremely gracious and has a genuine interest in ensuring you have a handle on the material he teaches. He wants to make sure you understand the value of leadership and leaves you with skills you can take and apply in the workplace as soon as you leave the room. He grades very leniently because he is more interested in seeing your effort to grasp the material and interest in the coursework than he is in destroying your GPA. Plus he's just a really nice guy. Never saw him get upset or flustered once this semester. HIGHLY recommended. I only took 363 because it fit my schedule and does not required a textbook, but I am SO glad I took it. |
