Principles of Microbiology

Prerequisite: BSCI222. Restriction: Must be in a major within Biological Sciences; or permission of CMNS-Cell Biology & Molecular Genetics. Credit only granted for: BSCI223 or BSCI283. Additional information: Priority given to BSCI, BCHM and CHEM majors. Introduction to microorganisms designed for science majors. Genetic principles underlying microbial abilities; microbial structure-function relationships; metabolism, physiology, and ecology of microorganisms; interactions between microorganisms (including pathogens) and their hosts. (Sponsoring Dept.: CBMG). Students must pay a $40.00 laboratory materials fee.
