Special Topics in Terrorism Studies; The Hostage Negotiator: Crisis Communication Skills

This course is designed to examine the history hostage/crisis communication as an effective tool for law enforcement. The concepts of what constitutes effective communication will be discussed and evaluated. Upon completion of the course, students should possess an understanding of the importance of the basic communication process, how emotions and stress affect this process, and strategies for using crisis communication techniques to improve their personal and professional lives.
