I am so confused by these reviews because professor morabito is the nicest and easiest teacher I have had at UMD. If you go to the lectures then you will get an A. the tests are the most straight forward tests I ahve actually ever taken and the material is super easy. I have her for 2 classes this semester and she is such a nice person and genuinely wants you to do well. The exams are actually so easy, all you have to do is take notes and go to lecture. Highly suggest, I have learned so much.

Super chill professor. All exams/quizzes are online except for the midterm. Not a lot of work at all! One big group project at the end of the semester on the human trafficking of a country of your choosing. We watch a lot of movies in class!

Great lecturer who is very nice and understanding of his students. His lecture slides are very concise and easy to follow, and although he does not upload them to ELMS, he makes sure everyone writes down what they need to write down. Awesome lecturer, and I plan on taking more classes with him.

Dr. Lacey is a great professor who does a good job at keeping the class engaged and he shows that he cares about his students. A small complaint I have about him is that he does not upload his lecture slides to ELMS, but he does make sure that everyone has written down whatever they need to write down before moving on to the next slide. Overall, he's a great guy and I plan on taking more classes with him.

class material is interesting enough but the proff is a stickler about certain stuff. quizzes throughout the semester were online open note with material straight from class (did not buy the textbook) BUT she doesnt post slides on canvas and expects you to take notes every class, so a friend to share notes with is recommended. overall class is straightforward with a big group project at the end. she called out someone for having airpods on in class once and is rlly annoying about citations. for an assignment, she wanted you to cite her lectures (mind you lecture slides are not on canvas) and docked points off for "wrong lecture citations" even though there is no consensus online on how tf lectures are supposed to be cited. overall, lecture is interesting enough but be prepared for an annoying professor.

Jessica Morabito is not that good of a lecturer and she is incredibly strict. She is very pleasant when you go up and talk to her but the second you screw up she turns into a ruthless demon. She also has a bunch of very weird rules for her assignments about how and when to turn them in so if you mess up on that you are not in luck. If you are the type of person that is on your game about due dates literally all the time then I would say its fine to take her but if you are not DO NOT TAKE HER because you will end up doing not so great in a very easy class.

Had this professor last semester but felt like I needed to leave a review. I genuinely enjoyed her class and the topics. I attended every lecture, took through notes and tried not to get on her bad side. I had her in the morning and plenty of times I witnessed students getting scolded in front of our 40+ student class. My problem with her began when we were assigned a group project 2/3 months before the deadline. A group project of 5 turned into me completing the assignment by myself. I emailed her and voiced my concerns. She seemed empathetic and told me she’s take all of my effort into consideration at the end while grading the projects. This was a VERY big project!!! Every group had at least 6 members and I had 1 person helping me….throughout this assignment I kept having problems with my group members and I’d voice my concerns to her. I think she just got tired of my emails. But to be fair this was like 30% of my final grade. She had also told us in the beginning that she’d let us grade our group members at the end but since everyone else had a helpful group she disregarded the group grades…. I was left competing this assignment by myself and I got a shitty grade for it.

Prof. Dorsey is very laid back and chill with his students. His deadlines are the only thing he is very strict about but he gives you plenty of time to work on the assignments. Exams are pretty easy and he always keeps the class engaged.

Professor Dorsey is one of the best professors you will ever have at UMD. He is kind, passionate about what he does, and really cares about his students. If you have the opportunity to take one of his classes, DO IT. You won't regret it.

Awful, she is new and has no place teaching any of this. No real world experience, awful to deal with, reads off slides and contradicts info. Bases everything off trying to make the most student fail as possible. I am telling you do not take this class if you value your gpa and actually learning - she is no help ever as well.

Prof. Miller's course was completely asynchronous but the workload was reasonable and she isn't a harsh grader. She doesn't budge on deadlines and is not lenient with technical difficulties, responds to her email in a reasonable amount of time. She uses the textbook as a reading along with her weekly lectures.

Professor White is not an academic expert on this subject, but has professional experience with it. She is prepared to teach and manages to keep most students engaged, even though each class is two and a half hours long. It is absolutely necessary to do the assigned readings!
