Great lecturer. Manages to cover a ton of relatively advanced topics and explains them in an understandable way. Exams and assignments were very manageable, but having a background in math and probability will definitely be helpful later on in the course. Mostly teaches grad courses and it shows; some of the lectures go hard into the math and it's easy to get lost, but going over the uploaded lectures/notes helped a lot. |

Pretty happy overall with Shayman's teaching. Grading was fair. Wish more examples were worked in class. |

Good professor. Took her for 324 and now again for 420. Good, coherent lectures. HW is not excessively long, though can be tough - just a characteristic of the material being innately tough. Fair tests. Dry humor to keep lectures interesting. Definitely recommend this professor. |
