His teaching style is just doing a lot of examples on the board. He goes into a lot of unnecessary details explaining something and just confuses me. Also since you can't use calculators for any part of the class, it's a pain crunching numbers in your head, but i guess it's a useful life skill. The only reason why I did ok in his class is because i took an honors level calc course (not AP) in high school.

Dr. Levy is an amazing professor. He taught the concepts very thoroughly and taught straight out of the textbook, so if you had to miss a lecture, you could teach yourself the chapter. His exams are fair, and he does not like word problems so he strictly tests the concepts and does not try to trick students on the exams. Homework is optional so you only need to do it if you need practice. At the end of the semester, he says that what really matters is what you know at the end, so if you have like a C average in the class but get an A on the final he'll likely give you an A in the class. I highly recommend taking him.

Dr. Levy was a great lecturer and really explained the concepts well. He also had a great sense of humor and made us laugh once or twice each lecture. The homework was somewhat challenging. Although there were a good amount of computational problems towards the end so that was helpful. There were about 6 problems from the book that required MATLAB (which I could always figure out with a little bit of tinkering, but some of my classmates would give up). His tests were pretty easy, but I really screwed up bad on both midterms, then aced the final. So I probably should have had an A if I was paying attention. The book he used was okay, it had an above average amount of mistakes i would say, but it is the standard book for this class (Working Analysis by Jeffery Cooper) so that's not really his fault. Grade style: Homework 20% of grade (2)Midterms 20% each Final 40% Would definitely suggest him for any class.

Pf. Levy was a great professor for this class. He explained important concepts very clearly and posted his notes online-which were basically his lectures. The notes were really helpful filling in any holes I had in my notes. His exams were extremely fair. If you were paying attention to what is going on and have an understanding of how to do the hw, the exams will be easy. He is also a very reasonable and approachable man. I would take another class with him again if I had the option.

He is an amazing teacher and I learned a lot from him. He takes the time to explain every little thing in great detail and he has a style of teaching which takes getting used to but once you get used to it it makes other teachers seem so confusing! Be careful to study for the final because that's how I got screwed over... He is the best.

Weird teacher. explains things too much and still unclear. the only reason i got an A is because I had taken calc before.
