Overall, he is very knowledgeable about Supply chain management and is a lovely person. I really enjoyed the way that he lectured because I wouldn't fall asleep in his class. What I didn't like is that your grade is based only on quizzes and exams. There are no other opportunities besides the extra credit presentations, in which he interrupts the person doing the presentation and does it himself. Also, he doesn't post notes and takes FOREVER on one chapter. We missed a whole quiz this semester because of his delay in teaching, and he never gave us time to write down notes. Other than all of this, he cares about our professional success in our fields and offers help with preparing for interviews and if we need connections for internships, which is helpful. |

Good professor overall. You will have to attend lectures since he highlights the information that will be on quizzes or exams, and takes attendance. He does not post notes. Very engaging and explains content well. However, he takes a lot of time on certain topics, and ends up not following the schedule compared to the syllabus. Quizzes are basically based on what we go over in class. But some questions on the exams are based on chapters we have not gone over in class - make sure to look on the syllabus and complete the textbook readings since they aren't really covered in class. He does take a while to grade assignments and feedback. |

This class/professor may be for some people, but I found this class painful to be apart of. While the concepts are relatively simple, and the material is not too bad, I can't stand the way he teaches or the way the course has been structured. Your entire grade is based on in-class exam grades, there is no cheating your way into a good grade. Some people may find his lectures entertaining, he is pretty enthusiastic and engaging, I will give him credit for that, but I personally hated them. He goes ON and ON about certain things and speeds through other slides so quick you don't have time to even write down what they say. He pounds your head in every class trying to drill home some of the most basic concepts. Not to mention, its a crime were not allowed to take notes on computers, especially when I physically can't write as fast as I type. It's the end of the semester and we completely missed 2 chapters and an entire quiz (5% of our grade). He has yet to even explain himself. He has nothing to grade (auto-grades in canvas), and doesn't even hold in person office hours- it exudes a lazy attitude. I actually met with him once outside of class and he comes off very self-centered and narcissistic. He asks you questions about your major and what I want to do but took very little interest in my actual answer and ended up interrupting me to talk over me. He's a nice guy I guess. He wont be rude or lack empathy, I just don't like him. I'm sure I'm not alone on this one. Not to mention the man teaches straight from the textbook. If he had an accurate course schedule and no participation grade, I would never go to class. I can teach my self a chapter in an hour that takes him a month to get through. I rarely consider the cost of my education in terms of classes, but this genuinely felt like a waste of my money. I wish I had picked a different elective. |

This is a great class content-wise, it's useful for pretty much all majors and it's not super difficult to understand concepts. Exam questions are very different from quiz questions and the exams are difficult to understand. The wording of exam questions is pretty confusing. He does extra credit in the form of optional class presentations. Not all sections are at the same pace so you should try to go to your section only. If you miss class, it is difficult to catch back up. The textbook is hardly used and very lengthy. Everything we learn is in his presentations which are based on the textbook but he doesn't post the ppt on Canvas. Professor is very bad with technology, be prepared to wait months for grades to be posted and last minute assignments. For example, at home quizzes are only available for 24 hours but they are only 5 questions. Our section 0201 is way behind the syllabus like 4 classes behind due to him explaining every slide for 5 minutes. He tries to include everyone and ask the class questions so you won't be bored or fall asleep. He is overall a great guy and very passionate about what he teaches. He's also willing to network with students and provide you with professional opportunities if you ask. There is no writing assignments in the class, he hates reading essays and short answers so exams and quizzes are all multiple choice. That being said, our section was the first to use VR headsets as an additional module so we had to write warehousing reports almost every week, which he slowly grades. My group didn't really like the VR module though because it was completely outside of class and didn't tie in with class material well. |

Prof Gardner is one of the nicest professors I've had at UMD. He is extremely understanding and genuinely wants the best for his students. He structures his class around powerpoint's which can be boring at times but they are the key to his exams. He curved our midterm 9% and went over every question in class for chances for us to redeem why the majority now understands the correct answer. It was a bit sad when a lot of people stopped coming to class because he is a really sweet professor. His final was a huge curveball though and was really difficult for some reason. He still curved it but I wasn't able to make the cut off for an A. Overall, he's super knowledgable, kind, and I highly recommend to take any classes with him. |

I really enjoyed this class, as stressful as it was. Professor Coronado is funny, engaging, and knows supply chain management inside and out. My best advice is read the chapters slowly and carefully, and utilize quizlet for all the terminology (there are already quizlets made for this specific class). Another thing: watch out for the quizzes. Each point counts, so make sure you know what material will be covered and make sure you know it well. The class becomes super engaging after the first couple weeks; conversations about current supply chain developments and course material were interesting and useful. Professor Coronado is a great, really friendly guy who cares about his students—he constantly reminded us that he is willing to help out with any questions, whether it is about class/connections/careers/etc. Some of his quiz questions could sway to one answer or another, but he encourages you to email him and argue for your answer choice to try to get your points back. Also, book the extra credit presentations early. Spots will fill up quickly, and I'd recommend presenting at least once in each half of the semester so that you have some level of comfort going into the exams. |

The previous review is a bit harsh but it is a situation where it is an easy class with lots and lots of concepts/topics that only have quizzes and exams as your grade. The topics/concepts are honestly very very basic and easy, the problem is that the professor goes on forever about them. His philosophy is that he drills the concepts in your head till you honestly do not need to study that hard to do well on the quizzes. But the problem is that he repeats things constantly and it is very hard to stay motivated and pay attention to class. His quizzes are also recycled and are mostly on Quizlet so you can study for those before going to class as prep. Though, some questions are a bit tricky and do not genuinely test the students' understanding (strange wording and some "kinda right" answers to trick you). He claims that you can earn the grade you want in the class by signing up for presentations (15 min ones you present to the class) but he is kind of slow on answering emails and queues you weirdly with the other students who are desperately trying to up their grades. I also feel like he favors some supply chain major students more which can be unfair if you are trying to sign up presentations and you can get bumped down. I really do not see the reason to go to class if you do read the textbook on your own time, the chapters are kind of long but the classes you go to is him basically reading textbook slides (he does not share his slides) and him verbally drilling things into you. He is a great lecturer but after sitting through it for almost an entire semester of him projecting loudly, it gets very tiring and boring. He has a no laptop policy (except when we have quizzes) and wants you to do handwritten notes (unless you have accommodations) which is his attempt in keeping your attention. I would be more ok with the class if I can type my notes and do other work because it is honestly a waste of time to sit through class. I am glad I read the textbook on my own time since he zooms through concepts or goes through the same concept for 20 minutes. I would not recommend taking him but if you need a relatively chill class and ok doing work outside of class, this class is good. I am not a supply chain major but he is good at explaining and breaking things down for you and the topic is relatively interesting if you want a taste. |

She is a nice professor, however she's not the best professor, she tends to just read of the slides, and does it quickly as well. It seems to be more effective to just skip class and read the slides at your own time. Further, its difficult to understand her as she has an accent and wears a masks when lecturing, She also includes confusing formulas thats not included in other 372 classes. i don't feel like i'm learning in just memorizing slides and information. |

Great lecturer and not too many difficult assignments for this class. His mannerisms can sit wrong with some students and he may come off as a jerk but I think it's just his type of humor. Never read the textbook, just pay attention to his slides/lecture. Definitely participate in his class, but if you do be prepared to argue your answer lol. I disliked how far he was behind in grading, doesn't really help me understand where I stand with this class/ if I need to visit him for feedback/office hours. It's the end of the semester (over 10 assignments) and I only see 2 grades. |

Okay, it is absolutely shocking to me how there are no reviews for Professor Tungtisanont, especially since she's been here at UMD for four years now. Anyways, I'm going to be as honest and straightforward as possible. Niratcha (she lets you call her by her first name) is a nice woman. She's open to listening to suggestions, answers questions, and treats students with respect. I also love her outfits lol. Her teaching however, is a different story. She seems to overcomplicate things, especially during her lectures and whenever she teaches the formulas needed in Supply Chain. It's the wording that makes it seem trickier than it is, so it can be kinda frustrating during class when you're trying to grasp a concept that's simple but is being explained wrong. For the exams, it's the same thing. The wording is unnecessary and tricky. I mean don't get me wrong she's a "good" teacher, but not the best if you want to learn. If your style is more heavy cramming/memorization over steadily learning than she's the professor for you. 6.5/10. |

Honestly, I don't even know where to start. The professor didn't seem to fully grasp the concepts he was teaching, and the "correct" answers on his quizzes were frequently vague or blatantly wrong. I remember one question asking "Which of these is an expensive way to ship?" Answers: Freight, flight, boat. The answer was boat but wtf okay I guess. Oh yeah, and he recycles most of his quiz and exam questions from previous semesters. It's a classic situation of an easy class conceptually with lengthy and confusing multiple choice questions that make up 100% of the grade. |

You will learn many things that do not relate to supply chain management. The mid-term is easy if you pay attention in class. The final is on everything you never learned about supply chain management and will tank your grade. |

Very pretentious know-it-all. The class itself isn't hard, and attendance isn't a big deal. He puts random questions on the exams. The exams are all multiple choice but you will get many questions that have more than one answer. He's always bouncing up and down with his rolly backpack and twisting his coffee in the middle of your face. Reminds me of the teacher that kicks Seth Rogen out of the high school in "Pineapple Express". |

Pretty much all the positive things people have said about this guy are true. He's funny and and has an obsession with keeping students updated on current events. His tests, pop quizzes, and announced quizzes are all multiple choice. He can be a little tricky with the wording of his questions so watch out for that. Oh and acronyms, he always asks about acronyms and the tests so make sure you know those. Also he only posts lecture notes shortly before the exam. He says he wants us to rely on our own notes first and just use his for brushing up on topics. I am not a big fan of that, but its whatever. As far as homework we had one 1-page reflection and then there is this online simulation thing that you have to participate in once a week. The simulation looks confusing, but if you just try a little you'll ace that portion of the class. Now to moving on to Miller's major downfall. He almost never replies to emails. It annoys the living everything out of me. |

So as if it wasn't clear enough with all the other reviews, Miller is one of the best professors you will have at UMD. This was my first Supply Chain Class and I wasn't sure what to expect - especially since I was the only freshman in a upper level course with all sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Well it's safe to say, I loved this class! Miller has been teaching this class for 14 years now I think and he clearly knows what he is doing. I highly recommend him and this class! Now here is what you want to know: Difficulty: 4 (out of 10) Tests: Super Straight forward (like seriously just go over his slides) Textbook: He says to but no, you don't need it. Papers: None Projects: All group, and all easy! Lectures: Starts with news stories and keeps things interesting. Overall: TAKE THIS CLASS AND TAKE MILLER FOR ANY CLASSES HE TEACHES. |

Professor Miller is a cool guy, he adds a lot of humor to class. That being said the class is terribly disorganized. Be sure to do his extra credits. His exams can be tricky!!!! The course sort of brushes over various aspects of supply chain without going into depth. They leave out some important supply chain functions, which is a shame for an intro class. |

Professor Turner is one of the best professors I've had. He really knows what he's talking about, and is very passionate about SCM. Funny and very nice guy, too. The course is fairly easy, and professor will do what he can to make things easier. There were two tests, midterm and final. All multiple choice, all straight out from his study guide. Also, a group project on a subject of your choice and an essay on one of two topics he will give you. Highly recommended. |

Miller is one of the finest professors the Smith School has to offer. This is now my 2nd class I have taken with Professor Miller, and it's safe to say that he is my favorite teacher at UMD. He starts off every class, regardless of the course, with a 25-35 minute class discussion about various news articles he found surfing on the internet. You can tell that he puts a great deal of effort into the news stories, considering that he's practically memorized every single punchline and one-liner that coincides with each article. He has excellent comedic timing, and has nearly mastered the art of sarcasm. It's always a great way to start class. Miller does his thing, the class often laughs pretty hard, we get into some relevant and intriguing discussions, and by the time it's over, you're all warmed up for class. When it comes to credentials, Miller has more than enough. He's worked on dozens of supply chain systems throughout his career and helped found an asset management and supply chain consulting firm. He constantly refers to his prior experiences during lectures that provide a much needed perspective of the industry. His tests aren't really that bad at all. If I had one complaint, and many others feel this way, it would be that his exams are more of a test to see how well you memorized the material rather than actually applying the terms. If you study the slides really well then you should have no problem getting B's and A's. Definitely recommend this class or anything with Miller for that matter. He's truly one-of-a-kind |

Professor Miller is an amazing professor! His supply chain mgmt class was the best class of the semester. I loved going to class--he taught for like 30 mins and spent the 1st half of the class going over current interesting news articles-he is seriously hilarious! and you wont feel like skipping a single class. His class isn't much work. The only thing we needed to worry about working on is studying for the exams which were like super straight forward, provided that you memorized all the acronyms& terms and whatever he has in his slides-and I mean literally memorize it! All his exam questions are from his slides although he is going to say the ebook is required and the book is fair game for the exam--you really don't need the book so don't spend money trying to buy it. There will also be a pop quiz during the semester although he will have 2 assigned in his syllabus--it's only worth 2.5% of the grade though--and there will be extra credit but you get like 0.5% credit for writing a 1 page paper about your experience at IKEA or at a self check out and stuff like that.. BMGT 372 was the best class I took last semester and I can only say that caz of Prof Miller. If you need to take bmgt 372 take it with Jeff Miller! |

This guy is absolutely hilarious. Very knowledgeable and an expert in logistics. Book = unneeded. Case studies cost $$ but are a breeze to write. Pay attention in class, ask questions, and listen to his proud bragging of his princeton graduate son. The A or B should be easy. |

Don't buy the book. You don't need it. All you have to do is read the powerpoint slides and the case studies. The exams are completely based off of that. There is a group paper and presentation. Overall I enjoyed the class and he is definitely helpful. The material is quite easy. |

Great class, not a lecture you'll feel like skipping. Miller really knows his stuff and makes good use of his class time, making what could be dull information more interesting. He goes through news stories for the beginning of of the class (usually the first 1/2 hour) and makes jokes all the time. Study the lecture slides and know the terms from the class. He creates exams that really test whether you remember the info from his slides and lecture, don't plan on studying for just a few minutes before the exam...spend time on the exams, there's really not that much else you need to work on in the class. Group project isn't demanding, but don't forget to DO IT! It's a weekly submission that could be easy to overlook. |

I really enjoy Professor Miller's class. He does news stories in the front of the class for the first 15-20 minutes, and is basically a comedian during this time. He really keeps the students entertained during the entire time. His tests are from the lecture slides. If you miss a few on the test your grade will drop significantly. Glo-Bus simulation is very fun and can be quite competitive. Overall, one of my favorites! |

Professor Miller's class is interesting and entertaining. I hardly needed motivation to attend every class. He begins with funny news stories and takes the class through lecture which he tries to make entertaining. Assignments are easy and he really tries to emphasize fun, group projects. The only negative part is his tests which are not only arbitrary, but do not test students on what they know, but rather how well they remember. Instead of applying logistics concepts, he wants to make sure you can remember certain acronyms. I'd recommend the class still, however, the poor tests are unfortunate. |

great class, definitely recommend this professor keeps class entertaining, has real world experience so he keeps the class up to date tests are exactly from his lecture slides there is one one-page paper which is really easy and everyone gets full credit as long as you turn it in. basically as long as you show up to every class and turn in everything you'll be fine. showing up to class isn't a big deal because he makes it entertaining |
