Open Seminar; Rewriting History, Creating Memories

This seminar will focus on Argentine and Uruguayan writers who were forced into exile or lived through in-sile during the last military dictatorship. While some had addressed the official versions of history before the 1970s, others offered alternate strategies as a result of that experience. We ll explore, among others, works by Carlos Liscano, Cristina Peri Rossi and Mauricio Rosencof (Uruguay) and David Vias, Tununa Mercado and Andrs Rivera (Argentina). Taught in Spanish.
