He really cares about teaching the material. He teaches based on examples, so sometimes the white boards gets a bit messy. His exams are very fair, and I would highly recommend him.

Don't hesitate, take his class! I had an amazing semester and learned so much from his class. I am a finance major with no interest in accounting, but the topics his covers are very helpful. Everyone gets to participate in class. He is laid back and understanding. If you need more hours to work on exams/quizzes make sure to email him early in the semester. One of the best professors at Smith.

Really good Professor. Asks for feedback frequently and actually listens to students. The exams are a big part of the class, but if you're ready, you'll be fine. He also makes videos on the class modules so we don't get bored reading the bulky textbook.

Professor Subasi is personable, but can overcomplicate simple topics. The course load is very manageable and the exams are accurate to what he goes over in class. However, this is a class where you don’t want to miss lecture. For the exams, your score is relative to your peers, which can be intimidating, but he offers a VERY generous curve. With that being said, it took him over a month to give us our first exam scores back. Overall, definitely consider taking this course with him!

Professor Subasi is very straightforward when it comes to his class. He creates a notes templete that you can just fill in as you go. The exams cover what you learned in class and the notes have examples that are similar to those on the exam. The homeworks are kind of tedious, but it is very easy to get an 100% on all of them and they are once a week. Overall, he is a great professor that cares about his students and you know what you're going to get out of his class.

Very good guy! I can't stress that enough. He's got a good course structure, gives everyone ample time to do the homework, and gives you this most helpful practice exams you'll ever have at this school. He definitely cares about his students successes. One of the best professors I've had at UMD so far.

I took this professor last spring and I can assure you he is the best so far. He always listen to his students and he knows when his students are confused.

Great professor who clearly knows the material and is able to effectively convey it to students. As the other review stated, recorded lectures were not the best quality so it was difficult to use them for reviewing purposes. The content for this course was difficult but between the textbook and his lectures you should be fine. He is also very friendly with his students when answering questions about class or about career-related topics.

Solid choice. Decent lecturer. I had a hard time staying engaged in class but I'm not sure I can blame him for that since I didn't particularly enjoy the material. My only complaint is that, while he does post his lecture slides and the recordings of his lectures, he often diverges from what's on the slides and writes numbers/calculations/T-charts/etc on the whiteboard, which is too far from the camera to see what he's writing (so if you miss class or just want to rewatch a lecture, sometimes you're just screwed). Also, sometimes there's a problem with the microphone and his voice is too quiet in the recording to hear it at all. However, neither has been a huge issue for me so far because it's easy to make up what you missed using the textbook and slides. As far as his exams go, you have 90 minutes to complete roughly 13 questions. He posts the exam on ELMS and your time starts from when you first open the file. You just do your work and write your answers on your own paper, then scan it/take a picture and email it to him. He's lenient in terms of how long you have to email it to him (like if you send the email 93 or 94 minutes after you open the exam, he won't take points off). He also posts a LENGTHY study guide which is a fair representation of what you'll see on the exam. He doesn't surprise you or give you trick questions. If you know what you're doing you'll finish the exam with plenty of time to check your answers. Otherwise, there's a weekly homework assignment on Connect due Sunday at midnight, and any score of 85% or above he rounds to 100% in your final grade. If you're like me and procrastinate actually learning the material until the weekend, they might take some time. If you know what you're doing, it's an hour or two max. There's also a group project at the end of the semester but it isn't too much and he gives you plenty of warning.

Definitely a good teacher, but definitely a horrible grading system. Our semester grade completely depended on our "rank" in the class, so nobody had a clue what their grade was until the end of the semester. His final was also insanely unfair, but he curved it a lot to make up for it. I think you'll learn a lot in the class and hopefully he changed his grading system by now.

Professor Rose is by far one of the best accounting professors I had during my time at Maryland. Her exams are very fair and straightforward, somewhat similar to the exercises she does in class. There are online assignments in connect due almost every week or two, but it's not too bad. She tends to go a bit fast and to be a little monotone in class, but it's not really a problem, if you take notes and review at home. She's also happy and readily available to help if you have any questions. An A is very easily attainable in her class, with some work, and you'll leave her class feeling like you've learned a lot. Whatever she teaches, I highly recommend that you take it. You'll be glad you did!

Literally the best professor ever. Gives you all the tools you need to get an A, learns *everyone's* name, and prepares you so, so well. I learned a ton in her class. Absolutely fantastic professor. One of the best things she does is give a fantastic review of the concepts from Principles, which is amazing because I completely forgot everything about that class. If you have the opportunity to take this class with her, you absolutely should!!!

Not the most exciting lecturer, but she doesn't need to be; BMGT310 is not too thrilling to begin with. Her lectures run through key concepts in the book's chapters, and she goes through several practice problems that you can later practice online on Wiley Plus. Class consists of 6 Wiley Plus homeworks (lowest score dropped), a quiz on basic accounting concepts, and 3 exams. Exams are VERY reasonable, as they directly mimic the problems you do in class or on WileyPlus, and she is VERY clear about what you need to know for each exam. She is very nice and extremely approachable about any student concerns. She teaches the material as well as it needs to be taught and makes reasonable exams. A student can't ask for much more.

Class is really hard not going to lie. Accounting is a hard subject so you can't really blame this guy. He tries his best in teaching the subject, but its better you don't attend his lectures because he reads off powerpoints. If you want to learn accounting you have to read the book otherwise find a different professor.

If you thought Pfieffer was bad, then wait till you get this guy. Just the same boring guy as Pfieffer, only his tests are completely different from any of the homework or practice problems.

His tests are very easy if you know your material. He doesn't really teach, just reads the power-points that Wiley has provided. You honestly have to teach yourself. Out of 1004 points, the curve was only 25 points; which equates to 2.49%

Professor Rose is an excellent accounting teacher. Class time consists of going over key terms and concepts from the chapter being covered and a lot of practice problems. The practice problems are nice because it helps you learn the material and some of the problems covered in class appear word-for-word on the exams. The grading is 3 exams (including the final, which is not comprehensive), 1 quiz (worth half of an exam) and 6 online homework assignments. Class attendance is optional but really recommended because as noted earlier a lot of the material covered in class appears on the exam in either exact or very similar form. Reading the book helps to reinforce and clarify the information. I highly recommend taking Professor Rose's class. She is a very knowledgeable and fair teacher and although you'll need to study hard, it is rewarded with very manageable exams.

Kim is an old-school teacher! He walks into the room and starts writing notes on the board for about a half hour. He explains it for another half-hour. Then 15 minutes is for his funny/awkward stories. The exams are almost entirely from his notes, plus a customary curve-ball question which isn't in the notes. You gotta go to class and take notes!
