The class overall is very textbook heavy. What I mean is that you can basically understand everything and pass the exams by just focusing on the textbook. She has a group project and then 3, 60 question exams. The exams are all multiple choice, pretty straightforward, but very long and boring. I literally outlined every chapter and memorized all of the main points. If you do this, the class is not bad at all. Her lectures are pretty boring and class participation isn't mandatory so more than half of the class never goes, but if you participate she will remember you. I personally always went to class, never used a laptop, sat relatively close, and answered questions every once in a while. In the end when I should have received an A- she gave me an A, this is all without ever having a personal conversation with her. I was borderline and I'm sure that my engagement is what pushed me over.

I don't, by any means, echo the extreme positivity in the reviews which convinced me to take her class. Her tests are fair-ish, there are usually 3-5 ambiguous questions per 60 question test. What was a problem were her "discussion board assignments." She grades them like full on papers, even though the syllabus makes it seem like they are supposed to be discussions. She refused to give full credit to anyone in the entire class, and when asked why she said she didn't believe that anyone in the class of hundreds deserved full credit on any of their 4 papers. The class average on one of her tests was a 76 and she didn't do any sort of curving. She wasn't horrible, but definitely not a full 5 stars.

This professor was a great marketing teacher. She laid out the whole semester and how the course would be broken up and then she followed that schedule. She taught a lot of great topics for all business majors and her tests were all multiple choice. The final was called "exam 3" and was held right before thanksgiving. It was the same length as the other 2 tests and because of it there was no actual final during finals week. The tests were easy to study for, definitely get the online course mate because that's all you really need to study for the tests and using it should guarantee you an A overall in the class.

Professor Whitney is a solid lecturer and a fair grader. If you put in some effort to study for her exams, you will get an A in her class.

Prof. Whitney is awesome. She goes over exactly what she wants us to know, and tests us on that only. She is more than willing to accept arguments for grading discrepencies, and is an overall fair person. This class did not require much effort at all, if anything it was mostly memorization. Plus, I actually learned some things from this class. Wait until Prof Whitney is teaching 350 to take it; it's worth it.
